NATO's that you as part. About this vote of confidence today. Is Ned Yost and date more sound like two people about a bit in a long ballot relationship that are going through rocky times most of its ballpark -- lately he's wearing a long battle relationship. Like cheated on each other out. Aspect of each other's money let let's forget and pick up the kids from school wasn't what Dick Moore says about Ned Yost all of our success is tied together. We fought through some challenging times in the past. Will do it again -- together.
We'll -- in their out of the honeymoon phase you know c'mon. Ned Yost has been the manager this club for years and years at this point Dayton Moore is in year nine these these are

but. I'm. Shocked at who said this to the Tampa Bay times. Tony Dungy . The man who sees. And was one of the first African American assistant coaches in the NFL. Tony Dungy the man who was a mentor to Michael Vick for second chances and openly campaigned for Michael Vick to be brought back on teams. Tony Dungy one of the most even fuel leadership. You know -- respected guys. He says he's the guy that says that he wouldn't
lot of teams that said that it are we just penalize the Tony Dungy for saying publicly. Over penalize -- I mean I'm I don't know but I mean and now his comments are an issue where. I would they had just been better from not to say anything I mean TJ coach Mike same at this point he's got a coach the right. Everybody's an analyst and he's respected and that's kind of why -- he's a leader he talks these players -- The symposiums in the rookie meetings -- a lot of people look up to Tony Dungy and people are pointing out that isn't Tony Dungy super religious. Yeah I remember Tony Dungy is being super religious but that's how we came out and said. You know you drink almond -- I have an opposition

old royals that we've seen all season in that we've seen under Ned Yost Ned Yost wasn't good enough as evidence in the Scott Downs embarrassment. -- -- was lost their offense is not good enough. And they
three different types of games play out much. Friday night was the Ned Yost game providing us with. Maybe my favorite drop in the year just Smart and myself pages outsmarted itself -- -- I speaks up it was Smart and that I speaking something else and and I ask myself because it didn't work. And his argument was great to. But there was so much ironing out hopefully how much people read into it or listen for the entire press conference the beauty of it was. Was that Ned Yost . Within Scott down too by the way royals have the best bullpen in baseball right correct. Scott Downs was released from a

Ned -- outsmarted himself because another manager pension in the sixth inning it was almost as if Ned Yost did not know that it was goal. To pinch hit in the sixth inning like he was united -- -- -- smarter.

In the final hour, the guys discussed Alex Smith's contract, got into the latest with Aldon Smith and how he's only getting 12 days in jail. Plus, a 1990s Chiefs edition of "Pick a Player."
you about this is relatively well covered but with the news of Alex Smith talking in the star about his contract. We said certainly when you're talking about come compare apples and what the marketplaces for
the guys who have those countries but he wants to know where Alex Smith is lacking specifically. Why would you not give Alex Smith eighteen million dollars per year. It was whatever that she's played the cowboys earlier this season and I watch -- -- -- watch Alex Smith . Romo did some things that you said wound Romo made the rose. A you know they -- -- that they love that cliche like NFL throws this guy can make all the throws I got that feeling from Tony Romo. When you watch John Smith I didn't get that same feeling in watching Alex Smith for the seventeen games that we got a chance to watch in the season. I never got to feel like he can make all the throws I never got that. I'd ever got that feeling like he could throw guys open and that's why I think he struggles with. With big time wide receivers on the outside if he doesn't have the ability whenever there isn't a lot of separation to to create. An opening for those guys that's the biggest difference between great quarterbacks good quarterbacks and guys like Alex Smith . Yet it it comes down to is he one of the guys to me today. Do you feel good about him. But him being the reason. Why you would wanna be on offense at the end of the game. And just ask yourself that simple question. You're down four and you need a touchdown. And there's three and a half minutes left. Is Alex Smith the reason -- We have more confidence -- -- the Roma. -- Chris Rose a better guy but we've seen Romo and
a great player on a -- Horrible organization with an incompetent coach. Alex Smith has been with good organizations and great coaches I'd -- which I think makes all the difference in the world but. Alex Smith to me is the guy that. You don't think that he's the reason that your team's gonna go down there and make what now that he's incapable of doing it now that he's never done it. But that there are some guys. That they can make that twenty yard out down the throw down the field they can step up in the pocket and deliver with a huge arm make the big throw make the big play. Then they can be the reason why you win. Alex Smith to mean much more often than not isn't the reason why you didn't lose. Would -- that to -- is good the
7/18 3pm - Sporting, SEC Network, Seinfeld dilemma
In Hour 2, the guys discussed how college football might be learning from the Sporting KC business model. They also discussed the timetable for the SEC Network and Danny presents a tough dilemma with his favorite comedian Jerry Seinfeld coming to KC in October.
college sports is that the in stadium at home field advantage in college football still matters because being a part of the in stadium experience is so much better than any other football experience you can get them. Of course split but as the cost goes up and then eventually they pass that cost on you was tickets go up I mean cultural -- has reached the same -- NFL wise is. They've made watching college football so enjoyable on TV they have created lead networks they have -- and they have expanded to so many different channels. But I always say college football in terms of a spore is the best viewing experience that you can't. Is because. At Saturday. 230 you can watch nine college football games at one time plus -- team's game. If given that option over the option of if I root for Missouri -- K state I got to drive an hour and a half one way you gotta park you're gonna tailgate. You grow the game that's three and a half hours long and you gotta drive -- I do I wanna do that as opposed to sitting and watching on TV obviously people watched college football in huge numbers on television. -- in the MLS again they have created it we're watching the game in stadium is huge. Going to sporting Kansas City games is a very big deal. But look house boarding goes on television look look out MLS does nationally it does terrible national. And I thought that was the component that the Wall Street Journal article left out and I tweeted it out -- a conflict any park and we can put it up. On now the sixth and social media accounts if you want to the headline news. Why college football is studying. Major League soccer I agree yeah I think they left out the television component of it. In net you can watch every SEC game on
these other sports so. It's it's I still find it interesting that college football will look to them. In how to create that environment because college football -- want to have that great -- stadium environment and the like. There was this number in this thing that blew my mind. The average age of the sporting Kansas City season ticket holder. He's a shade over thirty years old -- -- -- season ticket holder. You know two point 930 year old making the investment. In buying a season ticket package to Major League soccer that's gonna be the envy of every pro sport lead every college -- if you can figure out a way to Marky
7/18 2pm - Alex Smith, Royals 2nd Half, Remarkable Anniversary
In Hour 1, the guys discussed the latest surrounding Alex Smith's new proposed contract and how he believes he's worth a top-tier deal. They also previewed the Royals second half, and discussed how it's been 45 years since landing on the moon.
I read that. -- -- -- That best case scenario old from Alex Smith's camp maybe he doesn't really care about a few million dollars hear their -- One of those you Americans in the world through dozens of believed that he was one of those guys but I charts -- the best case scenario is. Alex Smith truly values Kansas City Andy Reid continuity stability and all the different offensive coordinators he wasn't loved in San Francisco if he truly values continuity. And he's willing to take less money that apple would suggest. No no no. I'm an American on the capitals on a pragmatist. I see that these guys that have worse numbers were production in May get paid all this money -- to get paid all this money to -- No doubt that -- Smith wants to be Taylor Jay Cutler and Tony Romo the question is is very team that is going to pay him like that because the last two times Alex Smith has been made available. There are not likely -- teams were busting the door down to acquire Alex Smith Jay Cutler if he were available lot of teams -- want Jay -- services if Tony Romo was available despite all his flaws -- team has won his services. I mean we saw whenever Alex that was available the teams that won -- Alex Smith and they weren't willing to spend a whole lot financially did -- so maybe this the case where Alex Smith what seventeen million dollars what teams like Kansas City wanna pay him thirteen wanna pay him twelve. Indian of a fine at least that was that middle marker for quarterback issue and I've talked about at this entire offseason. What has to happen eventually with quarterbacks is they have to create that middle ground because every quarterback in his new CBA. It's big time money somebody is gonna have to take ninety million dollars in his new CBA everybody teenagers -- the next contract and that's what's happened. It in this new CBS. All -- -- quote it was interest doing it from Alex Smith the star. With what he said he wants to play out the contracts. He said it in the context though whenever you sign a deal for this number of years and of that magnitude. You wanna be able to -- both sides are going to be happy so that you can play it out. These -- do not get played out and play -- they they do not get. And then goes I don't exist really and lets you lower the super. Super release. But Jay Cutler signed seven years 126. Million -- But Jay Cutler's not playing on that contract for seven years I'd be shot making get out of it is after three and turn --
7/17 5pm - The Hits, Flowers on Smith's contract, Jonah Keri,
In the final hour, the guys played the hits, heard what Brandon Flowers had to say about whether the Chiefs should extend Alex Smith, and talked Royals and the second half with Grantland MLB writer Jonah Keri.
passionate case from a guy who now and does not always tell Alex Smith to give them a pass and passion to same thing obviously is of all the endorsement of Alex -- ballots -- honestly. Get -- is no reason posit that Alex Smith . -- though I'd I didn't really feel like he believes that about Alex meant to -- I also genuinely think that the defensive players love Alex Smith may be even more so than some of the offensive players plus I think with. With a guy who played on that 2012 chiefs dream but it turned the ball over all the time yes -- -- these -- I can you go to about the first that you said he -- the ball which is a big part defense apart a lot of defects that our -- throw the ball over all the right I don't know of a former wide receiver would say the same thing necessarily about Alex Smith who's -- and down and thrown the ball away and look and for tight and fractured dead and goes right I don't know Michael Crabtree would do it. One of the best quarterbacks in the game we got to get it but it defensive player who. Doesn't wanna be put in bad situations because it reflects bad on their work when the quarterback turned the ball over point five yard line then they give -- points the points get put on the defense not a quarterback. It makes sense the defense of players love out like Alex Smith is an improvement but what one of the things that I heard in there. It is something that I do think a lot of chiefs fans who are in the pro Alex Smith camp do. He's. You wanna pay him because since your past. That I haven't had a quarterback Kansas City and a lot of years as a 100% true. -- 100% for. But that doesn't mean that you pay Alex Smith eighteen million dollars a year for the next four years you know what just because. You went through. Tyler how goal in Kyle Orton and Brady equally in the Matt
